You’re a Contender
It's been 3 weeks and I am thrilled to report that Chloe continues to improve. The second antibiotic seems to have stopped the infection and her wounds have granulated over. Most importantly, she is using her leg and walking. She's striving and thriving.
In convalescence, Chloe now spends her days in our fenced-in garden, enjoying the defunct kale and ground-cover accented by a sprinkling of yesterday's compost. The sun is on her face and the wind blows through her feathers. At night, she comes in the house.
What is noticeable and inspiring is that she is always moving and pushing her herself to walk. Her demeanor--I project-- seems to be one of joy--the joy of just being a chicken--a living being.
Half the time when you look at her, she is holding the injured leg up, as if she is doing her best flamingo impression. But the other half of the time, she is standing on it, weight bearing, and walking.
I'd like to say she has a spring in her step--but it is more a limp. Still, SHE KEEPS GOING. I am anthropomorphizing Chloe when I say that she does not complain or seem to feel sorry for her condition. No pity parties in our garden and her limp is often looking more like a hop.
Chloe is a CONTENDER.
She is a Comeback story.
Everyone was rooting for her and she didn't disappoint.
What can we learn from Chloe?
Where in your practice, or your life, do you need more tenacity, less complaining, more "stick-to-it-iveness", less excuses?
Join me this week where class will focus on making efforts to receive grace.
Getting unstuck and finding freedom of movement. So you can soar.... like a chicken. :)
Because YOU are a contender too.
with so much love,
