Pumpkin to Talk About
Friends,
We had a bit of weather whiplash here in the Berkshire mountains!
After a gloriously stunning week with almost summer temps to celebrate two of my three kiddos bdays, (Lotus turned 16 on the 23rd, and Bodhi was 14 on Sunday,) we woke up this morning to a full-on first-snow, kind of impressive accumulation.
Perhaps you too are in awe of the magic of the first snow of the season. I had to go get the scarves and hats from the basement this morning so I could play outside with the dogs and get photos of Ophelia and her first taste, literally, of snow.
Of course, it made me think of the holiday season that is approaching and the coming winter.
It reminded me of the saying, "There is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing."
This quote is really about being prepared for what is coming, and what is present.
And like our practices of asana, meditation, breathwork and Ayurveda, they keep us buoyed, healthy and resilient for the season.
We have some incredible workshops lined up for the coming months that are aimed at doing just that:
Join Chuck McGee in November to learn the biomechanical breath and armor your lungs for winter.
In December, yours truly will be leading a Restorative Yoga and Essential Oils 2-hour class to help you slow down and turn inward.
January brings a special guest, Katie Gray, a holistic healer and herbalist, will be bringing her secret formulas for anti-aging and wellness specifically for your crowning glory, your hair.
So much goodness.
In health and happiness,
Kari
