All's Well with Ends That Are Well
Tulum 2022 is a wrap, and all’s well that ends well—I’ll revisit this.
Let’s say that it was a retreat to remember….
And, at first, glance, perhaps not in the best way.
You see, the resort where we stayed has had a severe and persistent norovirus plaguing them for the past few weeks. The retreat center thought they were through it before our arrival, but because it seems to be in several other places in Tulum, it kept returning.
I’ll always suggest that my annual March retreat is an excellent jumpstart to your Spring Cleaning. However, I never imagined it would go down like this….
Ultimately, we all got sick. Some, like me, were fast and furious, down for 1/2 a day and then weak—but participating-- for 24 hours. Others were not themselves for a couple of days. I will spare you the details.
One by one, like dominoes, we fell.
We took care of each other. Eric took care of all of us.
Like strangers that survive a traumatic experience, we are bonded now for life. We survived. We are stronger. We are all several pounds lighter. We laughed a lot. Because what else could we do?
We plan a redo/reunion/reboot, perhaps at the farm this summer.
And though none of us would have imagined or wanted this for ourselves or each other, a couple of people said to me, “You know what? In a way, I think that it was actually what I needed.”
Isn’t it funny how life works like that sometimes? So, all’s well with "ends that are well."
I am looking forward to being home and to teaching my classes and my Spring Cleaning Workshop online this weekend. With essential oils. No norovirus is required.
With so much love,
Kari
