A Change Is In The Air…
Something in the air has shifted. Can you feel it?
In the Northeast, the heatwave has broken.
Overnight camps have ended.
The past week has simultaneously begun the barrage of administrative emails from my children’s three different schools.
I collected my younger two children from their 3-week overnight camp in New Hampshire.
My oldest is talking about needing new clothes for Back-to-School.
People are thinking about September.
Regardless of what that brings up for you, it is happening. Neither melancholy about the ending of summer nor joy about the beginning of school will influence this inevitable shift. Personally, I fall in both of those categories. It makes the transitions sweeter. I view this with a tear in one eye and a twinkle in the other.

This week is chock full of family forums, back-to-school orientations, and gatherings for Fall sports.
On Friday, we head out for an end-of-summer family vacation to visit “framily” (friends who are more like family ;)).
Right now, knowing that summer is ending makes me so appreciative of every expansive sunny day. Our evening walks with the animals are an awe-inspiring look at the changing landscape. Soon, the trees will have some rogue leaves that start to turn orange. But not yet. Not quite yet.
She (Nature) is still in summer mode. Enjoy it! But prep for the inevitable change---because it is undoubtedly just around the corner.
With love,
Kari
