For June. For Women. By Women

Friends,

Making sure that you are aware of two incredible opportunities happening on BetterYoga.net this month.

You probably know that Women make up 50% of the population. However, you may not know that most medical research is based on average-sized males.

Why is that? Researchers have known for decades that the female of the species is a more complex organism. Throughout the menstrual cycle, hormones fluctuate, resulting in too many variables to test drugs, protocols, etc., with the same degree of control as when they use male subjects.

Unfortunately for women's health, we were often left with remedies that didn't fit our particular physiology.

Georgie Lawlor, a physiotherapist trainee, yoga teacher, and master instructor of the Oxygen Advantage, is leading a workshop.

Breathing for Females

Saturday, June 3, 12-1:30pm ET

Through lectures and practice, Georgie will teach about the differences in our physiology and how to breathe better for female health.

Delving into those monthly hormonal fluctuations and life stage ebbs and flows, Georgie gives tips and tools to mitigate the symptoms and side effects through breathing exercises.

These techniques will reduce PMS, cramps, pain experienced during menstruation, and the hot flashes associated with perimenopause. We are thrilled to be able to host Georgie and bring her incredible knowledge to the platform.

Later this month, Larissa Hall Carlson and I will team up again to bring you.

Age Gracefully with Ayurveda

Monday, June 19th, 1-3pm ET

Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine with a specific focus on rejuvenation and longevity.

Our workshop will be a deep dive into the rhythms of your life, exploring living in harmony through all life stages.

Learn how Ayurveda can help you maintain your physical, mental, and emotional well-being as you age. Covering topics such as nutrition, self-care, and stress reduction, you will also learn how to tailor practices to meet your individual needs.

Accompanying the lecture on Ayurvedic theory, Larissa and I will demonstrate how to perform Ayurvedic facial massage, the benefits of oiling the body, and how to balance your nervous system to mitigate and minimize the menopause spread that happens to many women.

Let's come together to support one another.

Happy June to all,

With love,

Kari
